Allison specializes in evaluating and treating children from 18 months to adolescents with a variety of speech and language needs. She is skilled at supporting children with receptive and expressive language disorders, language learning disabilities, childhood apraxia of speech, autism spectrum disorders, articulation, and phonological disorders.
With San Francisco Children’s Speech Therapy, Allison’s practice focuses on supporting children’s speech and language development in their natural environment. Equipped with her love of teaching and warm personality, she strives to create a therapeutic atmosphere that is meaningful and memorable for each child and family.
Allison has wide and unique experiences supporting both children and adults with speech and language needs. These experiences include schools, private clinics, private in-home clients, and non-profit organizations. She has taught internationally and for the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), where she was a Special Day Class teacher for many years. With SFUSD, Allison also worked as an educational consultant, training general education teachers to adapt curriculum for children with communication needs.
Allison earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Temple University. She obtained her Master of Science degree in Communicative Disorders from San Francisco State University. Allison holds specialized certification in working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Allison occasionally teaches as an adjunct instructor and lecturer at San Francisco State University, in the Communicative Disorders Department.
Outside of work, Allison enjoys spending time with her husband and their son, in San Francisco.
